PHS Presents ‘Metamorphoses’

metamorphoses_posterThis November, Pearland High School brings to life Ovid’s classic mythological work “Metamorphoses” in the Tony Award-winning stage adaptation by Mary Zimmerman.

The play runs Nov. 3-5 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the PHS auditorium (3775 S. Main).

Zimmerman’s play is set in and around a large pool as actors and actresses perform a series of vignettes of Ovid’s ancient myths in both ancient and modern language.

The stories feature both comedy and tragedy linked by a theme of transformation, including such well-known myths as King Midas, Narcissus and Phaeton.

Tickets are $12 for reserved and $10 for students, faculty, staff and seniors.

In addition, for the Nov. 3 performance, attendees who bring a canned good for the Houston Food Bank will receive a $2 discount.
