Pearland police vehicle taken off streets so a mother bird can nest on it

A Pearland police officer is apparently in need of alternate transportation, as a mother mourning dove has commandeered Unit 187.

The police department reports on its Facebook page that officers will not disturb the bird, until the eggs hatch and the birds become old enough to leave the nest.

The police department estimates it could take another week for the eggs to hatch, plus another 14 to 20 days before the baby birds are ready to move.
