It may not quite be Spring, but the Grapevine Citizen Police Academy (CPA) Class 36 sprung to life after a year-long hiatus on Monday (February 12).
The break allowed personnel to move from the older building on Dallas Street to the new Public Safety Building on Ira E. Woods, which houses police, fire/EMS, courts and several other City offices.
The first class covered an overview of the department, as well as the history of the agency, and provided a tour of the building. Volunteers provided pizza and dessert goodies for class attendees.
Future classes include an overview of the K-9 Unit, SWAT, the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Animal Control.
While this class is full, interested parties may contact Sgt. Jason Keller to be added to the waiting list for future classes, which are held every Spring and Fall.
