Lewisville receives $40,000 in grant funding to help increase access to high-quality parks

As part of the 10-Minute Walk campaign, Lewisville was one of 12 cities selected to receive grant funding from the National Recreation and Park Association.

The $40,000 grant funding will be used to support city planning efforts that help increase access to high-quality parks within a 10-minute walk. Lewisville has 61.4 percent of residents living within a 10-minute walk of a park. As a result, the city will use funds to conduct walkability audits with community partners to identify ways to increase connectivity to parks and develop a neighborhood park improvement schedule based on a social equity model for prioritization.
