Lt. Col. Houk to Perform Gen. Jimmy Dolittle Impersonation at Rotary Meeting
Lieutenant Colonel Don Houk (USAFR) Ret. is scheduled to perform his General James H. “Jimmy” Doolittle Impersonation on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd at Golfcrest Country Club, beginning at 12:00 noon.
Lt. Col. Don Houk (USAFR) Ret., has been offering a first-person impersonation of General Doolittle’s life and accomplishments, particularly the Raid on Tokyo, for over four years. Don developed the program with the support of four of the Doolittle Raiders: Lt. Col. Dick Cole, Doolittle’s co-pilot on the Raid, C.V. Glines, author of Doolittle’s biography, Lt. Col. Edward Saylor, and SSGT David Thatcher. With the passing of most of the Raiders, Don’s presentation is even more important today for students and adults alike.
James Harold “Jimmy” Doolittle was an American aviation pioneer. He served as an officer in the United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War and earned the Medal of Honor for his valor and leadership as commander of the famous surprise Doolittle Raid on Tokyo Japan.
Lt. Col. Don Houk’s presentation is performed in full World War II Army Air uniform. He is a seasoned performer who lives in the Houston-Galveston area.
The Pearland Rotary Club meets each Tuesday at 12:00 noon at Golfcrest Country Club, 2509 Country Club Drive, Pearland, TX 77581.
