iNaturalist Explorers – Winter Tree ID & Nature Walk:
Identifying many trees in the winter can be tricky after they have lost their green leaves. Join iNaturalist Explorers and learn winter plant ID skills with plant ecologist Suzanne Tuttle, former Manager of the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. Join us on Saturday, December 1 at Parr Park (3010 Parr Lane) from 1:00 – 3:00pm to take a guided nature walk and document wild plants and animals along the way with the iNaturalist app. All ages are welcome to join and smart phones are helpful but not required. For more information email Betsy Marsh.
Why practice alone? Join us on Thursday, December 6 (10:30 – 11:30 am) and shoot with friends and enjoy friendly competition and camaraderie. This group is for those who want to keep their shooting skills sharp or practice for the License to Carry class. We will be practicing at Bass Pro Shooting Range (2501 Bass Pro Drive). You may register at the Active Adult desk at The REC or by calling 817.410.3465. The fee is $10/person.
Join us on the last clean-up of the year on Saturday, December 15! Our little Park is doing fabulous and we’ll make it even better to ring in the New Year! We’ll meet at Acorn Woods Park (Oak Grove Loop South) at 10:00am and work until 12:00pm. Wear weather appropriate clothing, bring heavy gloves, and don’t forget your water! Contact the Active Adults desk at 817.410.3465 to get signed up.
