Libraries are supposed to be quiet places, but the Grapevine Public Library has done something that speaks volumes.
Earlier this summer the library became the first sensory-inclusive certified library in Texas. “We’re hoping more join us, ’cause it’s really a great thing to do,” said Grapevine library director Ruth Chiego.
It’s also quite necessary. One in six Americans has a sensory need.
That means, sometimes, being in public places like the library can be overwhelming.
