More than 3,300 nonprofit organizations are taking part in the 12th annual North Texas Giving Day event Sept. 17 (today).
The 18-hour online event organized by Communities Foundation of Texas allows people to financially support local nonprofits and causes. Early giving opened Sept. 1 and had already raised more than $12 million as of Wednesday afternoon. Last year’s event saw about $50 million raised for 3,000 nonprofits in the 20-county region, according to the Communities Foundation of Texas website.
