Peace Together Walk THIS Saturday, Nov. 6

Hi Folks – I can’t tell you how excited I am about the Peace Together Walk happening SaturdayNovember 6th in Colleyville. So many people will be coming out and showing our community that we don’t have to give in to the fear, distrust, and hatred that threatens our society.

The value of an event like our Walk comes from the opportunity to spend time with people that have different backgrounds and perspectives than ourselves, people that may look different than us, who perhaps pray in a different way than we do, or who may simply possess a different belief system in some non-threatening ways. I’m sure there are many people in your life, perhaps a friend or family member, who has a perspective that would be valuable to share with others. Would you please bring them along with you to the Walk? Whether or not they or you have formally registered for the Walk will not matter—all are welcome. Just be at the parking lot of Good Shepherd Catholic Community, 1000 Tinker Road in Colleyville (overflow parking available at First United Methodist Church Colleyville) at 12:30 PM and we will transport you to the Opening Ceremonies at the Colleyville Masjid.

Please also review the list of donated food items below that we will be collecting at the Walk on behalf of the GRACE food pantry, to benefit local families who need support this holiday season.

My thanks to each of you, and those you reach out to and bring to YOUR Walk, for taking the time to share your story with others. Standing together we can make a difference. Together we can continue to rise up when hatred, bigotry, discrimination, and intolerance try to push us down. Love, friendship, and understanding will make us the winners.

Thank you so much for your support and all the love you’ve shown Peace Together already! See you Saturday!
