Community Appearance Index

March 5, 2016 from 12:00-4:00 PM at Stella Roberts Recycling Center, 5800 Magnolia

The Community Appearance Index (CAI) is a tool designed by Keep America Beautiful (KAB) to visually assess the overall appearance of communities through indicators such as litter, illegal signs, graffiti, abandoned/junk vehicles and outside storage.  A team of community, business and government representatives conduct the visual analysis using a scoring system ranging from 1-4, with “1” being the best to “4” being the worst.

The Litter Index for Pearland rated a 1.464 in 2015 and has consistently rated below 2 since 2011.  KPB will host lunch and orientation at the Stella Roberts Recycling Center March 5 at 12 PM.  Afterwards we will pile into the stylish community service van to conduct the survey.  Please consider joining us on March 5th to analyze Pearland’s overall appearance.  If you think of anyone else that might be interested, please forward them the information and email us at
