The Brazoria County Alliance for Children, Inc. and the Pearland Police Department will host their inaugural “Pinwheel Project” on April 8 at 9:00 a.m. at the Public Safety Building, located at 2555 Cullen Parkway in Pearland.
The agencies have placed 641 blue pinwheels in front of the building, representing the 641 confirmed cases of child abuse in the County in 2015. Three larger, red pinwheels will be placed in remembrance of the three child deaths as a result of abuse and/or neglect reported last year.
The public is invited to come out for a ceremony and Proclamation regarding child abuse prevention and to honor the children that died as a result.
