CidercadeLogoThe Bishop Cidercade, located at 2777 Irving Blvd, Suite 200, in Dallas, consists of a warehouse showcasing over 165 arcade games, as well as a good selection of Bishop Cider and basic wines.

The Cidercade is open seven days a week, and if you have a $10 bill, you can play every game in the warehouse as many times as you’d like. They also have monthly passes for just $10 more per person. The Cidery is family-friendly during the day, but you must be 21+ after 8pm. Ages 5 and up are required to pay the $10 admission.

I may be showing my age, but playing games like the original Ms. Pac-Man table version, Joust, Galaga, Centipede, Tempest and Q-Bert brought back fond memories, even though I was out-of-practice, and the pinball games held my attention for quite a while!

On “Fighters’ Row,” you’ll find 10+ head-to-head fighting games. There are 18 games on “Pinball Row,” from Indiana Jones to KISS to Star Wars. They also offer two 5 vs. 5 Killer Queen cabinets to support 20 KQ players, and KQ meet-ups are held every Monday at 7pm.

If your tummy starts growling, the Cidercade provides several menus from local eateries that you can peruse to have food delivered, as they don’t have a kitchen. A vending machine provides typical snacks if you can’t wait or are just feeling snack-ish. You are also welcome to bring your own food, and there are many picnic-style tables inside and outside to sit and enjoy your meal. On the weekends, food trucks come by around 2pm, offering sustenance, varying from Craft Sausages to Italian fare to grilled cheese sandwiches.

Tours of the production-of-cider side of the business are offered on the first Saturday of each month at 12:30pm. The Cidery’s founder, Joel Malone, talks about the history of the business, “Cider Convictions,” and how they turn apple juice into the finest adult beverages. You’ll be able to learn about the entire process, from juice to can. Tours are free for anyone that has already paid the $10 Cidercade admission. Reservations are not required for tours.
