Following a six-month stay, the Sea Turtle Rescue Center and Rehabilitation Hospital at Sea Life Grapevine Aquarium released its first patient, a green sea turtle named Pancake.
On May 5, Sea Life Grapevine Aquarium opened as the first North Texas aquarium with a hospital permitted to rehabilitate and release injured sea turtles back into the wild.
Pancake was sent to Grapevine to recover from a recent surgery for a contagious disease that causes tumors.
