Police Obtain Arrest Warrant for Shooting Suspect

Grapevine Police have identified a suspect in a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. a small group of men got into an altercation at the Shamrock gas station at 2713 Mustang Drive. Witnesses say two of the men were shoving each other when one displayed a handgun in his waistband. The suspect fired his weapon multiple times. One of the bullets struck the victim’s foot, while another shattered the glass of a neighboring business. No witnesses were injured.

The suspect got into his car and drove off, while the victim was driven away in another vehicle. On the way to the hospital, the victim spotted an ambulance parked at the 7-Eleven on Mustang and Ira E. Woods and stopped for medical assistance. Medics then transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.

Officers were able to identify the shooter through witness accounts and surveillance video. The 21-year-old suspect faces charges for Deadly Conduct, a third-degree felony. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. His name will not be released prior to booking.

The victim is identified as an 18-year-old man from Grapevine. He has been treated and released from the hospital.

Grapevine Police appreciate the assistance from witnesses in helping to identify the shooter. Investigators do not believe others are in danger.
