Road Closures This Weekend

DnaFxhPU4AI9L1BOn-Ramp Closures: Pending weather, North Gate Constructors will conduct a full closure of the SB William D. Tate Ave on-ramps (small ramps in front of Skate Town) to SH 121/360 this weekend from 8pm, Fri, 9/21 to 6am, Mon, 9/24. Traffic will be detoured to Stone Myers Pkwy.

UPDATED: Army Corps of Engineers: Fairway Drive closed for the rest of the year due to a slide at Grapevine Lake Dam


Beginning Aug. 13, Fairway Drive will be closed to public traffic for the remainder of the year, according to Flower Mound officials. Only authorized persons and vehicles will have access to accomplish Army Corps of Engineers missions.

The Corps is in the initial process of repairing a shallow slide at Grapevine Lake Dam. As a part of this forthcoming repair, the Corps had intended to close the road during the construction phase only.

US 380 construction wraps up this year; construction starts again in May 2021

US 380, which has been under construction since 2014, will wrap up construction on the second phase in December.

The second phase includes overpasses, making the road less congested and allowing drivers to spend less time in traffic, Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Ryan Lafontaine said.

The third phase is still in the design phase, but construction is estimated to begin in 2021.

Connector Ramp – Full Closure

TEXRail will conduct work that will require the closure of the east bound SH-114 connector ramp on Monday, July 30 from 9pm – 5am for removal of bridge over-hangs. Message boards have been installed. Please drive safely.

Interstate 35W Construction Was Finalized Thursday

Construction on the $1.6 billion North Tarrant Express Project, which has slowed and frustrated millions of drivers along Interstate 35W through Fort Worth for the past several years, is all but complete.

Officials behind the project are expected to announce that “substantial completion” was set for yesterday at a news conference.

The 10.1 mile project runs from Interstate 30 interchange with I-35W near Downtown Fort Worth to North Tarrant Parkway at the U.S. 287 interchange.

SH 121 shoulder to be widened: Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake transportation projects taking place in July


There are four transportation projects taking place in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake this month:

  • SH 121 shoulder widening
  • FM 1938/Davis Boulevard expansion, Phase 2
  • FM 2499/Gerault Road and drainage improvement
  • N. White Chapel Boulevard widening

Full lane closure scheduled at Brumlow Avenue, July 6-21


Beginning Friday, July 6, Brumlow Avenue in Southlake is planned to be fully closed to traffic.

TexRail’s construction team will be implementing a full lane closure for the construction and installation of a rail crossing, and utility and paving improvements near the intersection of Hwy. 26.

The road is expected to remain closed through July 21 due to the construction.

SH 26 in Colleyville to move to new construction phase months ahead of schedule


SH 26 in Colleyville is moving to its next phase of construction months ahead of schedule, Colleyville City Council said at its meeting July 2.

Area Texas Department of Transportation Engineer Minh Tran said that while Phase 2 is ongoing, Phase 2 and Phase 3 will overlap to avoid heavy traffic periods while school is in session.

“This is really good news,” Mayor Richard Newton said.

Colleyville launches its next phase of business promotion as SH 26 construction continues

Called the Quarter 3 Promotion, the city has mailed $10 gift cards to every residence within city limits. The gift cards are to be used when shopping locally. To use the gift card, an individual has to provide it to any participating Colleyville business, and it will be applied toward the purchase.
