Grapevine Police investigating a deadly single vehicle crash

Shortly after 5:15 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022, Grapevine dispatchers received calls about a crash in the northbound lanes of S. SH-121 near Mustang Drive. A Honda Civic left the roadway on the left side and struck an overpass pillar.

The driver was the sole occupant in the car and was already deceased when first responders arrived.

Officers are still investigating what led the driver to veer off the roadway, but witnesses said the car was not speeding at the time of the crash.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will release the driver’s name pending notification to next of kin. One lane of northbound SH-121 will remain closed until the crash scene is cleared.

UPDATE: BIG NEWS: HISTORIC ROBERSON FARMHOUSE MOVE on 3/5/20

We are thrilled to announce that The City of Grapevine will be moving the historic Roberson Farmhouse, built in 1905, located at 117 Long Prairie Road in Flower Mound to 608 South Dooley Street in the Historic Grapevine Township.

Fairway Drive will be temporarily closed on the rescheduled date of Thursday, March 5 from 8:30am – 12:30pm to accommodate this move. View the route map at bit.ly/2vqCyFZ.

The R. J. and Manie (Farley) Roberson Farmhouse is located on a plateau above Denton Creek, at Grapevine’s Rockledge Park.  R. J. Roberson operated a large farming operation and dealt extensively in livestock. The Roberson’s farm covered 400 acres on the north side of Denton Creek. In 1947, the majority of the farm became a part of Grapevine Lake. R. J. lived there until his passing in 1933. The house was retained and Manie lived there until her death at age 87 in 1962.

The Stewart family and Sunset Legacy LP donated the Roberson Farmhouse to the City of Grapevine. The Farmhouse is being moved and restored because of its significance and importance to the history of the development of the City of Grapevine. Funding for its move and exterior restoration is provided through the Grapevine Township Revitalization Program.
