Updates:
Due to the heavy rainfall, some parks, boat ramps, and parking lots and fields have been closed. The current closures are Minnow Loop at Oak Grove, all boat ramps (except Katie’s Woods, high water), and ALL athletic fields are CLOSED until further notice. With the predicted rainfall in the forecast, we anticipate needing to close Meadowmere and Lakeview on Monday. Check the alert button on GoGrapevine.com to stay updated! For athletic fields, call the rainout hotline at 817.410.3475.
Sunset Concert Series:
Our final Sunset Concert is this Saturday, October 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm with Mad Men Swing Band! So bring your blankets and chairs to enjoy a relaxing fall evening of various music styles at The REC of Grapevine. This FREE outdoor concert will have food trucks onsite to purchase from or you may bring your own food (no glass is allowed).

Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and The REC is offering FREE admission into the facility on any Thursday when you wear PINK!Guest needs to be with a current member. Help us increase awareness of the disease, raise funds for research into causes, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Visit The REC front desk for more information about our PINK initiatives.
Puppy and Kitty Cat Yoga:
If you’ve been thinking about adding a special fur baby to the family, then this is the purrrrfect opportunity to adopt. The REC of Grapevine and Grapevine Animal Shelter and Adoption Center have partnered to offer some fun-filled yoga classes! We’ve had three successful Puppy and Kitty Cat Yoga sessions so far and our last session is next Saturday, October 27 (10:00 – 10:45 am). After Hours:
Join us for November’s Game Nights as part of After Hours, a NEW Active Adults themed program that encourages seniors to try a new and exciting activity each month. Bring a friend, test your mettle, and have fun hangin’ around! Each Tuesday in November, come play some fun and challenging games with us! Matter of Balance:
This award-winning program is taught by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine staff, and consists of 8, two-hour classes. The program is FREE and is designed to help adults 60+ years of age reduce their fear of falling through group discussion, problem solving strategies and increasing levels of physical activity. The Matter of Balance class meets October 1 through October 24 on Mondays and Wednesday (9:30 – 11:30 am). For more information, contact the Active Adults desk at 817.410.3465.
