Grapevine PD Offers New Telecommunicators Hiring Bonus

The Grapevine Police Department is proud to announce a new hiring incentive to encourage qualified candidates to apply with GPD as a Telecommunicator, more commonly known as an emergency dispatcher.

The hiring bonus is $1200 for new hires: $600 upon hire, $300 upon successful completion of the initial probationary period, and $300 upon completion of a successful 1-year period. Success is measured by a passing evaluation.

Telecommunicators are in great demand across north Texas, and as a designated first responder, it is critical to find the best women and men eager to serve the community and save lives. Telecommunicators who are hired full-time with Grapevine Police are eligible for the new hiring bonus, along with some of the best city benefits in the area, including paid time off, insurance, tuition reimbursement, retirement, and free membership to the city’s rec center.

Grapevine Police values all of our first responders, and knows the burden being placed on current employees until new hires are trained. With the support of city leaders, a critical staffing bonus is also being issued to current Telecommunicators, equal to $2400 for full-time employees.

The Department thanks all of the police officers and firefighters who are voluntarily serving in Telecommunicator roles until new candidates are hired and trained. The solidarity and support seen among all first responders is one of the reasons why joining the Telecommunicator team with Grapevine Police is so appealing and rewarding. Anyone who can multi-task, specifically listen over the phone while typing and sending out information, should apply for this highly-respected career.
